School Safety Tips

We know that many students aren't too excited to get back into school, but it's going to happen whether they like it or not, so why not be safe? Pop-A-Lock of Cincinnati has helped put together a nice school safety list for parents, children, and teenagers alike. Follow these tips below and you won't regret it!

For parents:
  • If you drive your children, be patient and make sure not to drive quickly in morning traffic.
  • If you drop your child off at the school, never drop them off in a place where traffic is moving.
  • Make sure your car is in good condition.
  • Always buckle up for safety.
For parents who let their kids come home from school, remind them to:
  • Always lock the door behind them when they get home.
  • Call and let you know when they get to the house.
  • Don’t cook anything that requires high heat or flames when you get home.
  • If something goes wrong and you must leave the house, go to the nearest neighbor that you trust.
For teenagers who drive themselves to school:
  • Don’t use your phone at all while driving. It can wait!
  • Pay attention to the road and know who has right of way when then time comes.
  • Sleep well each night.
  • It’s better to ride alone than with friends, but if a friend rides with you, make sure they are respectful of your driving duties.
